The younger classes have been having a great time checking in with Duncan's crayons in The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. Poor Duncan. All he wants is to color and he finds resignation letters from all his crayons instead. Each crayon is upset for a different reason and they explain it to him in their letters. The first grade classes are choosing a color and writing their own letter to Duncan about why they quit and how he can fix it and then they are illustrating it.
