We are pleased to announce that Maple Grove art students will be holding an ART SHOW in the New Seasons Market Café in Fisher’s Landing for the whole month of DECEMBER!! Each student in Art Class this semester will have at least one artwork on display in the Café, and maybe many will have more than one project included. Many artworks are winter themed and some showcase new skills and techniques we have learned. New Seasons Market is located at 2100 SE 164th Avenue Vancouver, WA 98683

2nd Grade art class learned new techniques for creating evergreen trees and snow drifts in these black and white paintings. They learned about the art term MONOCHROMATIC, which means using only tints and shades of one color.
1st Grade art students learned about what an illustrator's job is while discovering the art of Maurice Sendak. We focused on the element of art, TEXTURE, and created different types of implied texture with crayon resist for our own Wild Things. Kindergarten had an awesome time creating collaborative Wild Things. We folded our papers into sections and each student was only allowed to see the section they were working on. We rotated and refolded each time so no one knew what the whole thing would look like until the very end. Students focused on different types of lines and shapes to make up their Wild Things. The end results were fantastic and the process was a ton of fun! Here's where our 6th grade artworks are available with their bouquets: ACME STORES
