If we want creative innovators and industry leaders for our future then we must include the arts in education! This is clearly something, as an art educator, I feel very strongly about. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs are excellent, but if we want our kids to be truly successful then STEM should morph into STEAM to include the arts. This way students are exposed to creative problem solving and imaginative thinking while learning valuable interpersonal and social skills.
